India

Built for India's four labour codes.

The codes are in force across India from 21 November 2025. Teamnet checks each site against the codes and its own state's rules, for each type of person on site, and shows employers and contractors every gap before the due date.

What changed

Four codes replace the older Acts.

The Code on Wages, the Code on Social Security, the Industrial Relations Code and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code are in force from 21 November 2025.Labour codes in force (PIB) →
Together they replace 29 older labour laws. The OSH Code alone repeals the Factories Act, 1948 and the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.Labour codes in force (PIB) →
The four codes and your state

What each code asks.

Code on Wages, 2019

What it covers. Minimum wage by state, zone and skill; wages paid by the due date; bonus.

What Teamnet does. Each person's wage checked against the minimum for their state and skill. A late or short wage is flagged with the person who fixes it. Employees are paid on Teamnet HRMS and payroll.

What the law says

If a due is late or short, the law is clear.

If a contractor pays wages late or short, the principal employer must pay the workers and recover the amount from the contractor (OSH Code, 2020, section 55(3)).Compliance handbook for employers under the four labour codes (Ministry of Labour and Employment) →
ESIC is due within 15 days of the end of the month. Late ESIC carries simple interest of 12 percent a year, plus damages at rates that rise with the delay (ESI General Regulations 31, 31-A and 31-C).ESI (General) Regulations →

Teamnet shows each gap before the due date, so it is closed in the month.

Who it covers

Each type on its own rules.

  • Employees - TDS and Form 16, PF and ESIC where they apply, gratuity, bonus, full and final.
  • Contract workers - the contractor's licence, wage register and muster, and the principal employer's duties.
  • Daily-wage workers, apprentices and vendor staff - each set as their own type, never on another type's rules.
